Ability to use a check box to send the invoice to some people, and not others

I currently have accept payments activated and send invoices to clients automatically when submitting payments. I wondered if there was any way to turn this off for certain clients? For example, we have a lot of clients who's sessions are paid for by their insurer, so we mark the appointment as paid several months later and don't want to send the client the invoice. This has happened recently and resulted in several phone calls to the clinic!
